Migration of Magento from version 1 to Version 2.0 is required if you need an “Upgrade”. The Project work being explained here is about the same .
Problem Updating of Magento is normal task for a Magento maintenance person as the theme & extensions can be updated from within the repositories. When it comes to “Upgrade”, we see big changes in theme & extensions. When Magento 2.0 is compared to Magento 1.0, we have structural changes in database. The actual problem – retaining the theme and extensions with their previously done customization “intact with the upgraded System”.
Following Magento “upgrade & migration procedure” given by Magento community. Exporting existing theme & extensions, checking their compatibility per Magento 2.0 structure, reinstalling them in Megento 2.0. Exporting Database from previous Magento version, Rearrange database Structure As per new Magento version and finally importing the same in new Magneto version.
Result Fresh, New, Secure, light version of Magento eCommerce with all the existing data of customers. Orders, transaction, shipping and other details as per Magento 1.0 eCommerce system. No loss of data in upgraded system that is Magento 2.0. Custom theme & extensions as it was there in Magento 1.0 with no change in customization.
